       Jo Arroyo (they/them)Interim Chair Jo has been working in Oregon on HIV research for 3+ years. They are passionate about public health and connecting the community to resources and information. When they’re not working, they’re pulling invasive plants, reading books, or working on skills that bridge art and utility.

      Evelyn Kocher (she/her)Interim Vice Chair Evelyn immigrated from Indonesia with her family to her hometown of Beaverton at the age of 3. She graduated cum laude from Oregon State University in 2018 with an Honors Bachelor’s of Arts in cultural anthropology and international studies. Formerly the interim executive director of the Oregon Student Association, she now is a communications manager at Latino Network. She is also active in policy spheres, passing bills to change the state song (HCR 11, 2021) and organizing legislative efforts to expand trans rights in Oregon (HB 2002, 2023) as well as being a chief petitioner for the Equal Rights for All ballot measure campaign (Petition 2026-033). In addition to the WQRC, she currently sits on the boards of the American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon, Oregon Trans Health Coalition, Basic Rights Oregon PAC, the Higher Education Coordinating Commission, and Oregon Voice. She has lived in five different countries and speaks ten different languages.

       Julie Park (she/her)Secretary Julie is a food blogger by profession and parent to two pitbulls and four school-aged kids and tweens. Having grown up between Philly and Cleveland, Julie has now lived in Portland for nearly 20 years. She studied Classics at the University of Chicago and has a BA in Sociology and Women’s Studies from Temple University. Julie is passionate about volunteerism and has years of experience with feminist, queer organizations, and nonprofits focused on food and housing insecurity. When not working, momming or volunteering, Julie loves to go to the movies with her partner, cross-stitch, do puzzles, bar trivia, travel, and definitely eating!

       Jamie Phillips (she/her)Treasurer Jamie moved from Oklahoma to Hillsboro in 2021 with her wife and two (now adult) teenagers. After transitioning in 2022, she left her 24-year career in the auto industry and found a more welcoming environment in insurance. Jamie is passionate about building local queer community that provides safe spaces for everyone to be seen, heard, and validated. She serves the Washington Co. Chamber of Commerce as Vice Chair of the LGBTQ+ Business Advisory Council, volunteers with OHSU’s Transgender Health Program, and is a member of WQRC’s Volunteer and Communications committees.

       Alex Bateman-Pooser (they/them)Alex has been a certified Peer Wellness Specialist for mental health since 2022, though in the spirit of nonconformity and fun, they’re really a sea monster at heart. Utilizing personal lived experience as a queer autistic person, they strive to support and empower others in their community. A freelance digital artist on the side, Alex takes any chance they can get to be creative! They're also an avid gamer (both videogames and TTRPGs), they have an interest in the occult, and they own three cats.

       Sofia Bieniak (she/her)Sofia holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. In her personal and professional life she is passionate about mental health and the impact on the 2SLGTBQIA+ community. She strives to be a part of creating spaces where queer individuals feel safe to show up and be themselves. In her free time, Sofia enjoys spending time at the beach, taking photos, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with her partner and their dog Juno.

       Amber Davis Ota (she/they)Amber is a former Learning & Development professional who now dedicates their time to writing speculative fiction and volunteering. Through volunteer work, she strives to help Washington County grow and shine as an accepting, inclusive, multi-cultural community. Like many PNW natives, Amber enjoys spending time in nature. Indoors, they like to read voraciously and craft aimlessly.

       Miranda Luledjian (she/her)Miranda is passionate about promoting inclusivity and supporting queer community safe spaces. Her leisure activities include reading, tabletop games, knitting, and spending time with her friends and family.

       Katharine Weisbrodt (she/they)Katharine is a doctoral Clinical Psychology student at Pacific University and previously earned a BA in Neuroscience from Amherst College. As she recently moved from Wisconsin, Katharine hopes to foster a safe space for queer people in the area. In their free time, they love anything outdoors, playing sports, collecting plants, baking and watching shows with their partner.
